Hello Hawks! My name is Mrs. Alexander and I am one of the 7th grade science teachers. This is my first year at Prairie Heights, but my 35th year as an educator. I am originally from Texas and moved to Colorado 3 years ago to be near my grandson. I love spending time with my family, especially my grandbabies! I have a grandson, granddaughter, and another grandson due in November. I love being their NiNi!! I am looking forward to a great year with the 7th graders!

Hello Hawks! My name is Jessica Cooney. I am so excited to serve as your Principal. I grew up in Longmont, Colorado and obtained my Bachelor's and Master's degrees from the University of Northern Colorado. I have lived in Greeley for 21 years. My husband and I have 2 daughters who are in high school (one at Greeley West and one at Greeley Central). I have been in education for 25 years and I love it now more than ever. In my free time, I love spending time with family, playing with our dog, running, doing triathlons, and being active. I can't wait to meet you all and I am thrilled to be part of the Hawk Family!

Helloooooo, Hawks! My name is Buffy Cooper. I’m excited to join the Prairie team this year!! I have been teaching language arts for the past 12 and a half years. I’m glad to share my 13th year in 6th grade with all of you. When I’m not at school I love spending time with my family, searching for oddities, pinning butterflies, and watching the Buffalo Bills.

Hello Hawks, I am Kirk Devore. I teach 8th Grade Social Studies and love United States History. I Have been teaching at Prairie Heights for 10 years now. My wife and I have two young sons, and we spend a lot of time camping, hiking, fishing, backpacking and gardening. I also really enjoy hunting each fall and watching the Broncos. I am also the football coach here at Prairie Heights and this is my 10th season with the team. |

Hello! My name is James Espinoza aka. Espy 2.0. This is my first year at Prairie Heights and my 5th year in education. I was married two years ago and while we do not have kids yet, we have a puppy named Nova. I love hanging out with family and if you say road trip I’m in, where are we going. I am a Wyoming native and graduated from the University of Wyoming. I am excited to be part of the Hawk Family!

Hey Hawks, this is Eric Fischer! I am the Math teacher over in 8th grade. This is my first year teaching and I’m thrilled to be here! I’ll also be helping run the theater club this year! Hello! My name is Mrs. French. However, I do not speak French but I do speak Thai because I am from Thailand. I started my second career as a special education teacher in 2004. I joined John Evans/Prairie Heights in 2007. I strongly believe that all children can learn, with the right support. However, they will learn at different paces and different ways. I will be working with the 6th grade team again this year!

Hi Hawks! I am Ms. Fritts (though some students call me Ms. Frizzle). I teach 8th grade science and love shocking my students with really weird science facts! I am in my second year teaching here at Prairie Heights. I love all things odd and kooky, especially my cat, the bugs I collect, and the plants I grow. I am super excited to be here this year and help my students achieve the high level expectations I have for them.

Hola Hola Coca Cola! I am Jason Garcia and this is year 13 in the district! I have worked at both John Evans and Prairie Heights as a 7th grade science teacher as well as the Head coach of varsity boys basketball. I am incredibly excited to be teaching a new curriculum this year that has tons of labs and hands-on activities. In my free time I enjoy martial arts (my whole family participates in Tae Kwon Do) and I have recently earned my black belt. I love hiking, playing my ukulele and riding my e-bike around town. |
